Peer Review Process
This scholarly journal is published twice per year and contains articles either directly submitted. Each text undergoes a rigorous double-blind peer review process by members of the Editorial Board, comprising both Indonesian and international experts across various research areas related to the scope of the journal.
The criteria for evaluation include relevance to the journal's aims, original contribution to the field, engagement with prior literature, appropriateness of research methods, quality of analysis, and clarity of writing.
Typically, the review process requires up to four weeks. Editors assign reviewers based on their expertise in the topic of the submission.
The standard review timeline for the journal Developments in Applied Statistics and Data Science is as follows:
- Within three days of submission, the Editor-in-Chief will send the manuscript out for review or reject it.
- Reviewers have four weeks to complete their review. If this deadline is exceeded, a reminder will be sent by the editorial board. If no response is received by five weeks, a new reviewer will be selected.
- Prospective reviewers are requested to confirm acceptance of the review assignment within one week.
- Most manuscripts undergo two rounds of review; some may have only one round while others have three.
- Authors have two to three months to submit a revised manuscript after reviews are received.
- The total review time is variable per manuscript: one to two months for one review round, up to four months for two review rounds.
- Editorial decisions are made within three days of receiving the complete set of reviews for that round.
- In cases of conflicting reviews, a third reviewer will be selected.
